ADAPTATIONS

THE SEAGULL

The Seagull had its preliminary run at TheaterLab in September 2024. This new adaptation asks the question: in a sea of artists doing the same thing, what is it that makes you stand out? This production explores the brutality, destruction, and over-complication of what art should and shouldn’t be.

UNCLE VANYA

UNCLE VANYA, AFTER CHEKHOV: A NEW ADAPTATION is set to have its world premiere at the NY Fringe Festival 2025. In her second adaptation of the Chekhovian cannon, Emily Ann Banks examines the themes of unfulfilled potential and the haunting what-ifs that plague us. The narrative underscores the relentless passage of time and the realization that life's opportunities are fleeting. So, what are you going to do about it?

THREE SISTERS

In this new version of "Three Sisters," the scope of the show centers on the sisters’ deep longing for their deceased father, having many transitions back to a time where he was alive. This narrative delves into the complexities of grief, highlighting how the shadow of the past influences their present and future, ultimately driving the emotional resonance of the story.
