“Emily Ann Banks is critically acclaimed for only being funny sometimes.”
Emily Ann Banks is a jack-of-all-trades theatre artist who resides in New York City. She strives to make weird, evocative theatre that refuses to behave.
Her work lives in the space between the familiar and the uncanny. She’s drawn to theatre that unsettles, that asks audiences to lean forward and sit with discomfort, to leave a performance changed by what they’ve witnessed.
She isn’t interested in safe theatre. She’s interested in theatre that shifts the room.
WHAT IS SHE WORKING ON?
Reviving her role of Bea in Cuckoo? by Dylan Horowitz at The Tank (June 2026).

Monologue coaching for students who are looking to refresh their material!
WHAT HAS SHE DONE?
Directed her adaptation of The Seagull with City Gate Productions at The Secret Theatre (March 2026).
